Rossi Announces Nearly $809,000 in Funding for Improvement Projects

March 18, 2025

HARRISBURG – Rep. Leslie Rossi (R-Westmoreland) announced today the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) has approved nearly $809,000 in state funding for community improvements in the 59th Legislative District. Rossi played a key role in securing the Local Share Account (LSA) grants for the projects.

“Our municipalities have so much on their plates when it comes to improvement projects, and these initiatives can get very expensive,” Rossi said. “Fortunately, this funding will help fill in the gaps to make sure these improvements can be made in a timely manner. Whether it’s purchasing new equipment or building new facilities, these projects will help make life a little easier and a little safer in Westmoreland County.”

The local grants included:

• Donegal Township – $200,000 for a Donegal Township Water and Sewer Authority project to construct a Sanitary Sewer Collection and Treatment System.
• Mount Pleasant Township – $108,960 for the construction of a salt storage shed.
• Mount Pleasant Township – $115,517 to replace Westmoreland Homesteads Volunteer Fire Department’s hydraulic and powered rescue tools.
• St. Clair Township – $42,000 to purchase a new excavator to clean roadside ditches throughout the township.
• Unity Township – $16,247 to purchase a grapple to remove fallen trees and other debris from roads and culverts.
• Westmoreland County Redevelopment Authority – $326,000 to replace the underground culvert system in Derry Borough.

The grants were approved and awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which was established as an independent agency that holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth. LSA grants are derived from gaming revenues.
